Lock Tender Contract (Services for the Operation of 11 Navigational Boat Locks) – Clewiston, Okeechobee and St. Cloud Areas of Responsibility (Glades, Hendry,
Martin, Okeechobee, Osceola and Polk Counties) (Staff contact, Joel Arrieta, ext.
2867)The District owns 11 navigational boat locks that allow for public boating access within Lake Okeechobee and along the Kissimmee River Waterway from Lake Tohopekaliga to Lake Okeechobee. Five of the locks are within the Kissimmee River Waterway and six are located on the perimeter of Lake Okeechobee. This contract provides for annual lock tender services to operate the 11 locks.
Resolution No. 2018 – 0809 Authorize a 3-year contract with two 1-year renewal options with ECO Preservation Services, LLC, the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, for operational services of District navigational boat locks within Lake Okeechobee and along the Kissimmee River Waterway in Glades, Hendry, Martin, Okeechobee, Osceola and Polk counties in an amount not-to-exceed $664,697.46 and is subject to Governing Board approval of future year budgets.
