Award Contract for Caribbean Boulevard Seawall Replacement
Awards a contract to Benton & Sons Construction Company, Inc., for the removal and replacement of the seawall on the County owned property located at 13498 Caribbean Blvd, Fort Myers, in the total amount of $141,320.00. The seawall was badly damaged by hurricane Irma. This project was planned and budgeted.
Accept State Grant for Estero Bay Regional Inlet Management Study
Accepts award of a grant from Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) for the Estero Bay Regional Inlet Management Study in the amount of $422,596 (75% FDEP and 25% local match). The study area includes three interdependent Estero barrier inlets: Big Carlos Pass, New Pass and Big Hickory Pass. The primary focus of the study is to determine the volume and location of beach eroded sand in each of the inlets. The results will then be used to determine the best method for dredging each inlet and renourishing the adjacent eroded beaches. The local match of 25% will come from the Beach Renourishment Trust Fund project.

Authorize the Town Manager to enter into an Agreement with Coastal Engineering Consultants (CEC) to conduct an inspection of the Town’s mooring ball system for maintenance needs for the Town’s Municipal Mooring Field in the amount of $43,000 as budgeted in the current fiscal year’s budget. This service/expense is part of the match for the $43,000 state grant.
